Project Management

At DCAVS, we pride ourselves on being excellent project managers. Whether it is a simple one day installation or multi-phase long term new construction project, we must coordinate, communicate and follow through.

Our Approach: The first and most important aspect of project management is communication. We believe that we must establish and maintain the trust of our clients with these simple tools:

  • We show up on time.
  • We call you back.
  • We let you know what is happening.
  • We respect your time.

Our Processes: In order to provide an efficient and bug free installation we have developed the following key practices:


ATP or Assemble, Test and Prepare
:  We will preassemble and test your system in our facility before bringing it to your home. This most crucial step in our business ensures that you have a functioning system that has been debugged and quality tested.  Clients are encouraged to come in during this phase and comment on the system.

In-House Programming: We made a critical business decision in 1999 to perform all system programming with internal resources. Ease of use and reliability are our most important deliverables and we need to be sure we have control over the software and user interfaces we provide our clients.  With this decision and philosophy, we are able to better tailor our systems to the unique needs of our clients. A programmer, for example, can sit down with a client and get to know them and thereby ensure that the system reflects their specific tastes and desires.

Detailed Documentation Procedures: Although simple in concept, documentation can be hard to manage. Over the past 10 years we have defined an air tight system for managing all of the documentation for a project. Everything from meeting minutes, system diagrams, wire lists and project photo’s are linked together in well organized project files that our staff can easily and openly access.  This well organized procedure has maximized the efficiency of our staff while also eliminating the risk of “lost knowledge”.

Leading Not Bleeding:  Perhaps not completely related to project management but nonetheless core to our efficiency and quality is our philosophy that we provide leading edge equipment, not bleeding edge.

Every year there is a new product. A new service. A new company.  Over the years we have learned that newest does not equal best. In fact, too many times we ended up “beta testing” products on the backs of our clients. Not anymore.

Now, we only use proven products from companies that have shown stable performance. We have created a narrowly defined list of top notch companies that we have strong relationships with. Our strong relationships have led to many product enhancements and modifications that benefit the entire industry.
